Okay, so today I wanna share my little project about building with black bricks.
It all started when I saw some cool modern houses online. They looked sleek, you know? And a lot of them used black bricks. I thought, “Why not give it a shot?” I mean, my backyard wall was kinda boring anyway. I figured a black brick wall would look way better.
First things first, I needed to find these black bricks. I went to a couple of big home improvement stores, and man, they had tons of options! Different shades of black, different textures, some smooth, some rough. It was a bit overwhelming, to be honest. I even checked out some local building supply places, and they had even more choices.
- I asked around about prices, and they were all over the place. Some were super cheap, but I was kinda worried they wouldn’t last long.
- Others were crazy expensive, like, “Are you kidding me?” expensive.
- I spent hours just looking at bricks. Sounds boring, but it was actually kinda fun.
After a lot of looking around, I finally found some bricks I liked. They weren’t the cheapest, but they weren’t gonna break the bank either. They had this nice matte finish, not too shiny, which is what I wanted. I bought a bunch of them, enough to cover the whole wall. I also grabbed some mortar mix, a trowel, and a few other tools I didn’t have. I am lucky that I have a big car.
The Hard Part Begins
Building the wall itself was…well, it was a learning experience. I’d never done anything like this before. I watched some videos online, which helped a bit. But let me tell you, it’s way harder than it looks! Laying those bricks straight, getting the mortar just right, it took some practice. My first few rows were pretty wonky, I’m not gonna lie. But I kept at it, and slowly but surely, I started to get the hang of it.
It took me a few weekends, working on and off, but I finally finished the wall. And you know what? It looked pretty darn good! I was so proud of myself. It wasn’t perfect, but it was mine. That black brick wall totally changed the look of my backyard. It felt more modern, more stylish. Now, in my spare time, I would also make some decorations for my little black wall. Yeah, I will do this!
So, that’s my story about building with black bricks. It was a fun project, and I learned a lot. If you’re thinking about doing something similar, I say go for it! Just be prepared to put in some work, and don’t be afraid to make mistakes. That’s how you learn, right?
