Well, let me tell ya somethin’ about them dense bricks. Folks call ’em bricks, some call ’em blocks, but whatever you name ’em, they’re all the same to me – heavy and hard, that’s what they are.
Now, what do ya use ’em for? All sorts of things, I tell ya. You can build walls with ’em, big strong walls that’ll hold up your house. Walls on the outside, walls on the inside, it don’t matter. They even use ’em for them fancy fireproof walls, the ones that keep a fire from spreadin’ all over the place.
- Walls, that’s the big one.
- Them fancy partitions, the ones that keep the noise down.
- And like I said, keepin’ the fire from burnin’ the whole place down.
You gotta be careful though, when you’re pickin’ out these bricks. They ain’t all the same, ya know. Some are heavier than others, some are stronger. It all depends on what they’re made of and how they’re made. They got different shapes too, but most folks just use the regular ones.
And talk about heavy! My back aches just thinkin’ about liftin’ them all day long. The weight, it all depends on what they’re made of, ya see. Some are made with this stuff and some are made with that stuff, but they’re all heavy, I tell ya.
Concrete blocks, that’s another name for ’em sometimes. They’re tough and strong, that’s for sure. They keep the heat in during the winter and keep the heat out during the summer, so they’re good for that too. If you want somethin’ that lasts, somethin’ that’ll keep your house standin’ for a good long time, well, these bricks are what you need. They ain’t pretty, mind you, but they’re strong.
Sometimes I see them builders usin’ these bricks for foundations too, y’know, the bottom part of the house. That makes sense, I guess. You want somethin’ good and strong down there, holdin’ the whole thing up. And they use ’em for them retainin’ walls too, the ones that keep the dirt from fallin’ all over the place.
Now, I heard some folks use pine to get a fire going or to get some quick heat. That’s all well and good, but it ain’t gonna build you a house, is it? You need somethin’ strong, somethin’ solid, and that’s where these dense bricks come in.
These dense concrete blocks, they’re like I said, strong and last a long time. They can take a beatin’, that’s for sure. And they don’t rot like wood neither. Wood’s good for some things, but for buildin’ somethin’ that’s gotta last, you need these here bricks.
So, if you’re thinkin’ about buildin’ somethin’, somethin’ that’s gonna stand the test of time, you need to think about usin’ these dense bricks. They ain’t the prettiest things in the world, but they’re strong, they’re durable, and they’ll keep your house standin’ for a good long time, long after I’m gone, that’s for sure. And that’s all there is to it, plain and simple.
Just remember, pick the right ones for the job, though. Don’t go pickin’ the light ones when you need the heavy ones. And don’t go breakin’ your back liftin’ ’em neither. Get yourself some help, that’s what I always say. Buildin’ somethin’ is hard work, but it’s good work. And these bricks, they’re part of it. They might just be bricks to some folks, but to me, they’re the backbone of a good solid building.
And when you are choosing these bricks, make sure you know what you are doing, it ain’t like picking apples or something. It’s serious business, building is.
Anyway, that’s all I know about them dense bricks. They’re heavy, they’re strong, and they’ll last a long time. What more could ya want?
