Alright, let’s talk about them structural bricks, you know, the ones they use to build houses and stuff. Not the fancy ones on the outside, the real deal, the ones that hold the whole thing up.
So, what are these structural bricks anyway? Well, they’re like, the bones of a building, you see? They ain’t just for show. They make the walls strong, real strong. They use ’em instead of wood or steel frames, like them city folk do. It’s just bricks, all the way up, holdin’ everything together. They put ‘em on a foundation, of course, can’t just build on dirt, you know.
Now, some folks get confused, they see them fancy bricks on the outside of houses and think that’s what I’m talkin’ about. But that ain’t the same thing. That’s what they call “brick veneer”. It’s just for looks, you know, like puttin’ on makeup. The real strength, the real support, that comes from the stuff behind them pretty bricks, concrete or wood or whatever. But with structural bricks, the brick is the strength, it’s the whole shebang. It’s honest, what you see is what you get.
- Strong like a bull: These bricks ain’t no joke, they can hold up a lot of weight. Houses, walls, whatever you need.
- No wood or steel: Unlike them modern houses, these don’t need no extra support. The brick does it all.
- Different looks: Just ‘cause they’re strong don’t mean they gotta be ugly. They come in different sizes, colors, even them bumpy textures, you know, for fancy folks. And they put ‘em in different patterns too, make it look nice.
They make these bricks from clay, dirt mostly, and some other stuff they mix in. Then they bake ‘em, like bread, but way hotter. That makes ‘em hard as a rock. And then they got all sorts of different names and sizes and stuff. You got your Atlas 10 x 2 x 16, your Atlas 10 x 4 x 16, your Atlas 6 x somethin’ somethin’… too many numbers for my old head to remember. But they all do the same thing, hold up the building.
Some fellas, they make these bricks real good. Like that Summit Brick company, they make ‘em so they meet some fancy standard, somethin’ called ASTM C652. Don’t ask me what that means, but it sounds important. They say their bricks are both pretty and strong. Can’t argue with that, I guess. And then there’s Interstate Brick, they make ‘em too. Lots of folks makin’ bricks these days, good for them.
So, yeah, structural bricks, that’s the long and short of it. They’re the real deal, the strong stuff. Not like them flimsy things they build nowadays. If you want a house that’ll last, you use structural bricks. That’s what I always say. They been usin’ ’em for years and years, and there’s a reason for that. They work. Plain and simple.
