Mix that with sand or maybe that perlite stuff, looks like little white rocks, and it makes bricks that don’t fall apart when it gets hot. Some folks also use that soapstone, it’s a rock, but it can take the heat real good.
So, you take your fire clay, and if you got it, some of that aluminous cement, and mix it up good. Not too wet, not too dry, just right, ya know? Like makin’ mud pies, but these ain’t for playin’. Gotta be strong mud pies.

But if you ain’t got one of them, just letting them dry real good might do the trick, depends on what you’re usin’ ‘em for. If you just buildin’ a little fire pit, sun-dried might be just fine. But if you are makin’ a furnace for meltin’ metal, then you might need to fire them in a kiln.
So, that’s it. Not too hard, right? Just get the right stuff, mix it up good, put it in a mold, let it dry, and maybe fire it up if you can. Then you got yourself some fireproof bricks, good enough to handle any heat you throw at ‘em. Just remember, take your time, do it right, and you’ll have bricks that’ll last ya a long time.
