Okay, here is my experience about what bricks to use for a fire pit.
So, I wanted to build a fire pit in my backyard. You know, somewhere to chill with friends, roast some marshmallows, and enjoy the evenings. But I was totally clueless about what kind of bricks to use. I mean, a fire pit gets hot, right? You can’t just use any old brick. I didn’t want the thing crumbling or exploding on me!

There are these things called “fire bricks” or “refractory bricks.” They are way denser than regular bricks and made to handle super high temperatures. Apparently, they go through this special process in a kiln, which makes them tough cookies. I also learned they are bigger and thicker than the usual bricks. This was good news. It seemed like fire bricks were the way to go.
Next, I had to figure out where to actually find these fire bricks. The internet said most brickyards would have them. So, I called up a few places nearby. Some of them looked at me like I had two heads when I asked for fire bricks. But finally, I found a place that knew what I was talking about. They had a whole bunch of them!
I also did some reading on where to put the fire pit itself. It’s not just about slapping some bricks together. You gotta think about safety. I made sure to pick a spot that was away from trees, my house, and anything that could catch fire. The rule of thumb seemed to be about 10 feet away from anything flammable. I measured it all out and marked the area with some string and stakes.

Don’t even mess around with regular ones.
