So, I’ve been wanting to level up my backyard game for a while now, and what better way than with a proper BBQ setup? I decided to go all-in and build a brick BBQ, and let me tell you, it was a journey!
First things first, I needed a grill. I did some digging around and found this place called The Grill Works. They’ve got all sorts of grills – green egg grills, charcoal grills, gas grills, you name it. I ended up going with a charcoal grill, cause nothing beats that smoky flavor, right?
Once I had the grill sorted, it was time to get my hands dirty with the brickwork. I watched a bunch of videos online and read some DIY guides to get a basic idea of what I was doing. It’s definitely not as easy as it looks! Laying those bricks evenly and making sure everything’s level took some serious patience.
- Get the grill from the shop
- Learn how to build it up
- Start to lay the bricks
But hey, I’m not one to back down from a challenge. Brick by brick, I started building up the walls of the BBQ pit. It was like a giant puzzle, but with cement instead of interlocking pieces. There were definitely moments where I thought I’d messed up, but I kept pushing through.
Building Up the BBQ
After a few weekends of hard work, the BBQ pit was finally taking shape. I even added a little brick barrier around it to create a cozy little oasis in my backyard. It’s like my own personal BBQ haven!
I gotta say, there’s something really satisfying about building something with your own two hands. And let me tell you, the first time I fired up that grill and cooked up some burgers and hot dogs, it was all worth it. The food tasted amazing, and the atmosphere was just perfect.
So, if you’re thinking about building your own brick BBQ, I say go for it! It’s definitely a project that requires some time and effort, but the end result is totally worth it. Just be prepared to get your hands dirty and embrace the learning process. Happy grilling!
