Cool BBQ Designs Brick: Check Out These Awesome Ideas!

Yesterday, I got this wild idea to build a brick BBQ in my backyard. I mean, who doesn’t love a good BBQ, right? So, I started looking up some bbq designs brick stuff online. Found some cool pictures and got super pumped.

First thing I did was clear out a spot in the yard. It was a mess, honestly. Moved a bunch of old flower pots and some other junk. Then, I marked out the area where I wanted this bad boy to go. I used some string and stakes – felt like a real pro, haha.

Laying the Foundation

Next up, the foundation. I’m no expert, but from what I gathered, this is pretty important. I dug a shallow pit, about 6 inches deep, and filled it with gravel. Stomped it down real good to make sure it was all compact and level. This part was tough work, let me tell you.

Building the Walls

Now for the bricks. I got a bunch of these red bricks from the local store – they looked pretty good. Started laying them out in the shape I wanted, using mortar to stick them together. I messed up a few times, had to redo some parts, but hey, that’s how you learn, right?

  • I made sure to leave some gaps in the bottom layer for air.
  • Kept checking if the walls were straight with a level.
  • Took my time with each layer, didn’t rush it.

Adding the Grill

The grill part was a bit tricky. I got a metal tray for the coals and a grate for the food. Had to figure out how to fit them in so they wouldn’t fall. I ended up making some supports with extra bricks. It wasn’t perfect, but it seemed to work.

Finishing Touches

After the main structure was done, I added a few extra touches. Built a small side table with some leftover bricks – perfect for holding plates and stuff. I also thought about adding a wooden top, you know, like those fancy ones you see online. Maybe later, though. I was pretty beat by this point.

Finally, I let it all dry for a day. Then, I fired it up! Threw some coals in, waited till they were all ashy, and cooked some burgers. They tasted amazing, if I do say so myself. There’s just something special about food cooked on a BBQ you built yourself.

All in all, it was a fun project. Took a lot of effort, but it was totally worth it. Now I’ve got a cool brick BBQ in my yard, and I can’t wait to use it more this summer. If you’re thinking about doing something like this, I say go for it! Just be prepared for some hard work and a few hiccups along the way.
