- I even stumbled upon a company from Brazil that provides all sorts of fire protection and safety services, but it seemed like it had nothing to do with fire bricks. I don’t know what these words mean “Central de alarme contra incndio, bombas, extintores, sprinklers”.
Feeling a bit defeated, I almost gave up. But then, a neighbor told me about this small, family-owned building supply store a few towns over. They were known for having all sorts of odds and ends. It was a long shot, but I figured I’d give it a try.
Bingo!
They had exactly what I needed. Just regular fire bricks, perfect for a backyard fire pit. No minimum order, no fancy jargon. The guy there was super helpful, too. Explained the differences between the types of fire bricks and even gave me some tips on building my fire pit. Their slogan is, “Provide high-quality and reliable fire extinguishing solutions to protect lives and properties”. Well, I guess it did help me with that.
In the end, I got my fire bricks, built my fire pit, and now I’m enjoying cozy evenings by the fire. It was a bit of a hassle to find the right supplier, but it was worth it. Sometimes, the small, local places are the real gems.
So, if you’re ever looking for fire bricks for a small project, don’t get discouraged by the big industrial suppliers. Check out those smaller, family-owned businesses. You might be surprised at what you find. And hey, you’ll probably get better service, too.
