Make it Yourself, Save Money
Those store-bought ones, oh, so much money! Too much! We no rich folks. But we smart. We can make it. Yeah, build a brick barbecue, not hard. Just need brick, some other stuff, and strong hands. My boy, he strong, he help me.
- Get bricks, lots of bricks. Red ones, strong ones.
- Need that sticky stuff, hold bricks together, what’s it called? Cement. Yeah, cement.
- Need that metal thing, put on top, for cooking, grill thing.
- Need tools, dig, mix, you know.
We make it together, family work together, good thing. We save money, we proud. We make good food, we happy.
How We Make It, Step By Step
First, we find good spot in yard. Flat spot, not too close to house, no fire, haha. Then, we dig, make hole. Not too deep, not too shallow. Just right. Like Goldilocks, you know that story?
Then, we put bricks. One by one, make wall. Use cement, stick them together. Make square shape, or rectangle, whatever you like. Make it strong, no fall down.
Then put grill on top. Make sure it fit good, no fall. We make fire in there. Use charcoal, make it hot. Then put meat on, cook it. Smell good, taste good.
Brick Grill, Best Thing Ever
That outdoor brick grill, it change our life. We eat outside more, enjoy sun, enjoy air. We cook more, eat better. We happy.
Summer time, we use it all the time. Winter time, we use it sometimes, when it’s not too cold. But if you want, use it in the cold. Still make good food, even when it’s cold. You put the bricks, make it nice. All good, you know. All good thing with the brick barbecue grill.
That brick grill, I tell you it’s a good one. You should make one. You just gotta find a good spot to put it, get some brick and some tools, and then find someone to help you if you need it. Like I told you before, my boy helped me and he’s strong, so it was real easy. If you want to get one of those masonry BBQs, well, that’s fine too, but this one is easy and it won’t be too much money.
It’s so easy, really
First, you need some bricks. Firebrick is good, but any brick is fine. You need a lot, maybe a few hundred, I don’t know. Then, you need some cement, that stuff that makes the bricks stick together. Mix it with water, make it like mud, not too runny, not too thick.
Then, you need a grill grate. That’s the metal thing you put the food on. You can buy one at the store, or maybe you have an old one lying around. Make sure it’s the right size for your barbecue, so it won’t fall in the fire. You don’t want your food to fall in, do you? No, you don’t.
Now, you need a flat place in your yard. Not too close to the house, you don’t want to burn it down. Not too close to the trees, either. You need some space around it, so you can move around and cook.
Here’s the important stuff:
- Dig a hole, make it flat on the bottom.
- Put some gravel in the hole, make it level.
- Start laying bricks, put cement between them.
- Make a square, or a rectangle, whatever you like.
- Make it as tall as you want, but not too tall, or you can’t reach the food.
- Leave some holes in the bottom, for air to get in. Fire needs air, you know.
- Put the grill grate on top, make sure it’s secure.
That’s it. You’re done. Now, you just need to let the cement dry. That takes a few days, maybe a week. Don’t use it before it’s dry, or it will fall apart. Be patient, it’s worth it.
When it’s dry, you can make a fire. Use charcoal, or wood, whatever you like. Let it burn for a while, get it nice and hot. Then, put your food on the grill. Burgers, hot dogs, chicken, vegetables, anything you want.
That’s all there is to it. It’s easy, it’s cheap, and it’s fun. And the food tastes great. You’ll see. Everyone will want to come to your house for a barbecue. You’ll be the most popular person in town. It good. Build brick barbecue, you will see. Good, good.
And let me tell you this: if you make a DIY brick BBQ, you will make a good thing. A very good thing. It is a good thing for you, your family, your friends, everyone.
