Alright, let’s talk about this… this brick of coke thing. I ain’t no expert, mind you, but I heard things, seen things, you know? Folks talkin’ ’bout it all the time.
Now, from what I gather, way down south, where them jungles be, they make this stuff. They call it “raw,” and it’s supposed to be pretty strong, like, 80% to almost 100% pure, they say. Imagine that! Sounds powerful, like a kick from a mule. They squish it all together into these brick things, about a kilo each. That’s a lot, ain’t it?
Anyways, these bricks, they ain’t like the stuff you might see later. When they first make ’em, they’re mostly pure. But money talks, see? And folks wanna make more of it. So, they start messing with the stuff.
- First off, they might add some junk to make it heavier, like sugars or something. I heard they even put in stuff they give to animals to get rid of worms! Can you believe that? Crazy, I tell ya.
- Then, when it gets up here, to America, it changes hands a bunch of times. And every time it does, somebody’s probably adding more stuff to it. They wanna make it stretch further, you know, get more money out of it.
So, the pure stuff, that strong brick, it gets weaker and weaker. By the time it gets to whoever’s gonna use it, it ain’t nothin’ like it was at the start. I heard sometimes it’s only like 1% pure! Imagine that, paying good money for somethin’ that’s mostly just… junk.
They’re real sneaky about it too. They pick stuff to add that looks and feels like the real deal. They want you to think you’re gettin’ the strong stuff, but you ain’t. It’s like sellin’ watered-down milk, but way, way worse. They use all sorts of things, sugars, powders, you name it. They even got special chemicals they use, stuff that’s hard to detect. Folks are clever when it comes to makin’ money, even if it means doin’ wrong.
I also heard that they can test this stuff, to see how pure it is. They got machines and things, real scientific. And they can see what all’s been added to it. They can tell if it’s mostly junk, or if it’s still got some kick to it. Sometimes they find all sorts of crazy stuff in there, things you wouldn’t believe. It’s scary, what folks put in there just to make a buck.
The purity, it goes up and down over the years, but mostly it stays kinda low. Like, maybe 30% or 40% pure. That’s a far cry from that 80% or 90% it started with, ain’t it? And sometimes, like I said, it’s even lower, just a tiny bit of the real stuff mixed with a whole lot of nothin’. It’s a shame, really. Folks think they’re gettin’ one thing, but they’re really gettin’ somethin’ else entirely.
And you know what else? Nobody really keeps track of the stuff they use to cut it. They can get it from anywhere, it seems. It’s not like it’s illegal to sell sugar or powder, right? So, they can just buy it up and mix it in. Makes it hard to stop them, I guess.
So, that’s the story of a brick of coke, as best as I can tell ya. Starts out strong, ends up weak. Lots of hands gettin’ dirty along the way, all tryin’ to make a little extra money. It’s a messy business, that’s for sure. Makes you think, doesn’t it? About what folks will do for money, and about what people are really gettin’ when they buy this stuff.
