Now, them old-timers, they used to have these real simple kilns. Just a big ol’ hole in the ground, they called it a pit kiln I think. They’d stack the bricks in there, cover ‘em up with mud and stuff, and then build a fire underneath. Took a long time, but it worked. Burns wood, lots of it.
